Kitchen
There are two ways to think of the Kitchen in a restored historic home. One is to view it an artifact of antiquity, a would-be replica of the 'original' Kitchen, no matter how confining and inconvenient this might be for the residents. The other way is to treat the Kitchen like... a Kitchen--the locus of family life, the center of the home around which everyone's lives orbit. The seller spared no expense to create a kitchen that is not just beautiful but useful, not just luxurious but spacious and inviting, not just for show but for life, the life you'll make there.
The arched entryway was added in remodeling to speak to the flow of arches in the home.

Granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

Oversized country kitchen sink.

All new electricity, including GFC in all the right places.

Happily, the original Milk Door survived all remodels.

Rarely remaining behind, even when the Milk Door is still in place, is the intact order devise that once served the purpose of letting the milkman know what fresh dairy goods were needed by the family.

New custom cabinets were built for organization ease and convenience.

The laundry room was moved inside to this back room to the kitchen. As you can see, we also have a pantry with its lovely cut glass door knob.
